Encore

There’s no age limit when it comes to entrepreneurship.

Women over the age of 50 are among the fastest growing groups of entrepreneurs. But often, they don't have the same access to digital tools that are constantly changing. To close the digital divide, the Women’s Business Center of Northern Ohio and the Cleveland Foundation developed Encore.

Encore is for women business owners aged 50 or older in the Northern Ohio area. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have an understanding of:

  • The basics of branding, slogans and logo

  • How to create and manage their own website through Wix

  • Graphic design basics from Canva

  • Social media best practices

In addition, one-on-one advising will be offered to each participant, to be scheduled with the advisor or consultant between the class schedule. The class will be held virtually one week and in-person the next, but we ask that applicants have a basic understanding of how to work a computer.

Encore participants will also have the exciting opportunity to operate a pop-up space in the Corner Shop Collective retail incubator space!

Need equipment for the class? The WBC has resources available to those that need it.
