Small Business Ownership and Entrepreneurship: it all starts with an idea. Once you have that, ECDI can take you places. If you don’t know where to begin, our Entrepreneurial Readiness Info Training Session will help you get a handle on small business, and introduce you to ECDI’s small business lending. Once you complete this training session, you’re eligible for small business consultations, one-on-one assistance, additional small business training, and ultimately – small business loans for those who qualify.*

Our introductory Entrepreneurial Readiness Info Session will help you answer the following questions:

  • Do you think like an entrepreneur?
  • Have you asked yourself the important questions?
  • Have you considered the first 10 steps to starting a business?
  • Is your business idea feasible?
  • Do you have the information to start writing a business plan?

Please arrive to the Women's Business Center approximately 15 minutes prior to the beginning of class.  For special considerations, please contact Lauren Smith by phone at (216) 912-5665 or by email at lsmith@ecdi.org.

Please be advised that there is a $25.00 class fee if you are not currently a member of the WBC or Innovation Center. You will be expected to pay your fee upon arrival. Clients are encouraged to first attend an Info Session.

This workshop provides a practical introduction to key topics related to starting and managing a business. Developed jointly by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

  • Recognize the common warning signs of risk for a small business.
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate a risk management plan for their business.

Sometimes even well-equipped entrepreneurs can find themselves in a rut, or just hungry for more information on small business success and growth. The Small Enterprise Education Development (SEED) Training Series is designed for entrepreneurs who are ready to enhance their business idea or expand an existing small enterprise into a viable and profitable business. Clients taking this course will focus on four critical developmental areas; business concept, organization, customer relations, and operations using the GrowthWheel® concept, an interactive tool that helps entrepreneurs develop their business through an action-oriented process. Clients will also complete homework assignments that will assist them in developing a business plan and 30/60/90-day action plan.

Cost: $150.00 for four-class series and certificate of completion. This series will be held at The Parma Branch Library at 6996 Powers Blvd, 44129.

Full series is required for start-up phase prospective ECDI lending clients. Clients are encouraged to attend an Info Session and Entrepreneurial Readiness beforehand. Registration closes 2 business days before the class or when the class is fully booked; series fills up quickly. Classes are subject to cancellation. Please arrive at The Library approximately 15 minutes prior to the beginning of class.  For special considerations, call Lauren Smith at (216) 912-5665.

Please be advised that an additional $25.00 may be required for materials if you have a business partner who will also attend.
